5×5 Project Week [7]

5×5 Project Week Seven. February 10th-16th, 2015

All work by Dianna Fontes.Artist

Welcome, and thanks for taking a look at my new project. For more info about 5×5 please visit the About page.

Welp, welcome to my first missed week. I didn’t make my Monday posting deadline for the first time and I am super bummed. I have to check in today (Tuesday) and make sure I am not going back down the rabbit hole of TOO MANY other projects. I feel pretty good after reviewing my week because MOST of what I was doing was art related. THAT is really my focus for 2015 – art related. I am happy to do my business consulting (but I prefer it’s with creative people in creative businesses) and it is tax season and one of my clients did ask me to help him out because he’s on vacation…but I do want to state clearly here that I am NOT doing as much of this work as I used to; I still hope to cut it completely one day soon too. I’ve taken new shifts and projects at Art Ala Carte as well as private teaching shifts and projects again and that is a JOY. This weeks projects reflect that nicely. Enjoy!

Project 7.1 They Each Have An Example Of Their OwnRecyled Fabric, Buttons and Love. These are examples I made for the Spectacular Stuffies sewing class I taught to a group of twelve 6-10year olds at The Multnomah Athletic Club in Portland.

It’s difficult to prioritize when you allow yourself to be surrounded by so much awesomeness. I’ve realized that I just need to let go of the pressure to DO everything and just do what I can. I want to attract buyers, prosperity, exploration, discovery and joy (likely in that order) with my art work. To be able to focus on my art as work and to be able imagine a world where I make an actual living making, teaching, sharing and collaborating on ART is precious. Better one day late, than never. This is a reminder that all the steps ARE part of the project. Hope you enjoy my work this and I look forward to more feed back from you! Send messages here or to my email artist at sodafountainstudios dot com.

Thanks for taking the time to peep my project. Everytime you buy art directly from the artist you become part of the dream- thank you! Yes, these pieces, as well as a lot of my other work, is available for sale here. I will have these posted in my online store as soon as possible. Unfortunately you won’t be able to actually receive them until the end of this project because I hope to have a cumulative art show in January 2016 – stay tuned for more info on this.

And please don’t forget to FOLLOW to this site to get updates first. Thank you to everyone who has commented, liked, shared and sent love.

***Please note that these are taken on my iphone and NOT edited or filtered in any way on this website. I will try to add better photos and measurements as I go, might be time to get a nicer camera in play. I may also post these on social media with filters and edits. Thanks again for taking a look!
