All work by Dianna Fontes.Artist

Welcome, and thanks for taking a look at my new project. For more info about 5×5 please visit the About page.

This week I did A LOT of art. Wow. I taught art, I made art, I organized art supplies and I thought about raising money for art projects. Luckily it was pretty easy to fill this week with paintings, drawings and sketches, it was not as easy to find the time to write all of this business business. But, here we go.

Project 8.1 Pavement Smell After The Rain. Acrylic and glossy Mod Podge on board.

2015-02-23 23.14.11

Project 8.2 I Wish There Were Five Circles. Acrylic, pastel, ink and glossy mod podge on foam core.

2015-02-23 23.14.39

Project 8.3 Do You See The Faces. Acrylic, wax, pastel, Ink and glossy Mod Podge on board.

2015-02-23 23.22.46

Project 8.4 It Always Starts With A Line. Pen and Ink on Paper (Sketchbook Series 1.1)

Project 8.4 Yes, You Are Good Enough. Pen & Ink on Paper (Sketchbook Series 1.2)

2015-02-23 23.24.10

Not sure if this one is done. I am not known for adding to color to my pen & ink drawings but I got some new pens… who knows what’s going to happen now!

I’ve been back at the studio a lot this week. All I can say is GROWN FOLKS NIGHT!!! So much fun. I love making art with grown ups and kids alike. Check out the studio and come see me sometime! http://www.artalacartenw.com

5×5 Project Week [7]

5×5 Project Week Seven. February 10th-16th, 2015

All work by Dianna Fontes.Artist

Welcome, and thanks for taking a look at my new project. For more info about 5×5 please visit the About page.

Welp, welcome to my first missed week. I didn’t make my Monday posting deadline for the first time and I am super bummed. I have to check in today (Tuesday) and make sure I am not going back down the rabbit hole of TOO MANY other projects. I feel pretty good after reviewing my week because MOST of what I was doing was art related. THAT is really my focus for 2015 – art related. I am happy to do my business consulting (but I prefer it’s with creative people in creative businesses) and it is tax season and one of my clients did ask me to help him out because he’s on vacation…but I do want to state clearly here that I am NOT doing as much of this work as I used to; I still hope to cut it completely one day soon too. I’ve taken new shifts and projects at Art Ala Carte as well as private teaching shifts and projects again and that is a JOY. This weeks projects reflect that nicely. Enjoy!

Project 7.1 They Each Have An Example Of Their OwnRecyled Fabric, Buttons and Love. These are examples I made for the Spectacular Stuffies sewing class I taught to a group of twelve 6-10year olds at The Multnomah Athletic Club in Portland.

Project 7.2  You ARE An Artist.. Collage on cardstock. This is an example I made for a vision board class I taught to a networking group in Vancouver.

Project 7.3 This Is What My Stomach Looks LIke When I Am Near You, Nervous Art. Mixed Media on board, acrylic paint, paper, high gloss Mod Podge, watercolors and pastels.

Project 7.4 Kissing Fish. Mixed Media on board. Acrylic, watercolors, ink, pastels, glitter paint, glossy & matte Mod Podge.

Project 7.5 What’s Underneath. Acrylic paint on foam core, glossy Mod Podge.IMG_5554[1]

It’s difficult to prioritize when you allow yourself to be surrounded by so much awesomeness. I’ve realized that I just need to let go of the pressure to DO everything and just do what I can. I want to attract buyers, prosperity, exploration, discovery and joy (likely in that order) with my art work. To be able to focus on my art as work and to be able imagine a world where I make an actual living making, teaching, sharing and collaborating on ART is precious. Better one day late, than never. This is a reminder that all the steps ARE part of the project. Hope you enjoy my work this and I look forward to more feed back from you! Send messages here or to my email artist at sodafountainstudios dot com.

All work by Dianna Fontes.Artist

Welcome, and thanks for taking a look at my new project. For more info about 5×5 please visit the About page.

Exploring with paint this week has been my new obsession. It’s almost impossible for me to put it all down. I’ve also been exploring the idea of Valentine’s Day. It’s never been my favorite holiday, and not for the typical reasons; I am madly in love with love. I have a love, I love love and all things related to love. But I still think this holiday is frustrating. another holiday about gifts, hmmmmm. If you’re buying gifts please consider buying local, handmade gifts. It ain’t easy being a working artist.

Here are this weeks pieces, I do hope you feel the love.

Birthday Week! Woo Hoo!!! Thirty Nine, I will take it and I already LOVE it!! More than that I have ALL my stuff put away, I know where everything is, I have space AND I am actually running out of things. AMAZING!!! 5×5 Project Week [4]

5×5 Project Week Four. January 19th-January 25th, 2015

All work by Dianna Fontes.Artist

Welcome, and thanks for taking a look at my new project. For more info about 5×5 please visit the About page.

I spent quite a bit of time building some props for my daughters play this week. I didn’t want to add those items to this project but it did slow down the projects I was working on. I enjoy doing this kind of thing so maybe next time I’ll add them in.

I also spent a lot of time going through my “stuff”. I needed to find more objects, canvases and pieces. I needed to pull all of these things out and look at them but mostly I needed to toss some things out to make room for new art!

I was really busy doing work in my yard and it’s surprising to me how much owning my own home, having my own nest, feels just like making art. I have new garden beds, new spaces, new ideas. Happiness! I just want to be here. I just want to create a home.

So I didn’t quite make this post on Monday- but that’s only because of my constant technical and electrical problems (and also, it turns out, because my kids love to download crazy things on my hard drive in return for… Um, prizes or something?!?) Anyway, I had to load this from my phone since my desktop refused to work. Hopefully it’s not too ugly 😉
